Carolyn Jean Miller
Carolyn Jean Miller was born on October 16, 1963, in Denton, TX, to the late James Marvin & Velma Louise (Urshery) Braudaway. She died on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Norman, at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 2 days.
Carolyn grew up in the Fort Worth area, where she spent many years working as a Certified Nurse's Assistant in area nursing homes. After moving to Sulphur in 2018, she worked as a waitress at Mazzio's. Carolyn greatly enjoyed her time at Mazzio's, which allowed her to form strong friendships with her customers.
Of all things in life, holding the title of Grandmother was what she cherished most. She devoted her time to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchild. At the time of her death, she was anxiously awaiting the birth of her second great-grandchild.
Carolyn loved to fish every chance she found. She also enjoyed working puzzles, and crocheting. She was known to be an avid Elvis fan, owning countless pieces of his memorabilia.
Survivors include her three children, Velma Blackstone & husband Jim of Sulphur, Jennifer Sainz & husband Rodrigo of Gainesville, TX, and Chris Attaway & wife Kacie of Sanger, TX; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as two siblings, Kathryn Swartz & husband Robert, and Harmon Braudaway, both of Sulphur.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by one son, Jim "Catfish" Attaway; brother, James Braudaway; sister, Francis Braudaway; nephew, Axel Mozingo; and sister-in-law, Sheri Braudaway.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur. Pastor Les Scheer will officiate the service.
Services are "Entrusted to" Hale's Funeral Home of Sulphur.
