Cheri Lyn Welty (Walker), a beloved wife and cherished family member, passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2026, at the age of 63. She was born in Agana Heights, Guam, and spent her childhood growing up in Chula Vista, California.
After moving to Dallas, Texas, Cheri met Robert Welty, the love of her life. They were married on November 27, 1987, and shared nearly 39 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories. In 2021, they made the move to Davis, Oklahoma, to be closer to family.
Cheri had a creative spirit and many talents. She was a gifted artist, an enthusiastic crafter, and a wonderful baker. She especially enjoyed creating beautiful wedding and birthday cakes, adding a personal touch to countless special celebrations for family and friends.
Above all, family was Cheri's greatest joy. Some of her most treasured moments were spent with her nieces and nephews, sharing laughter, making memories, and enjoying playful afternoons splashing in her pool. She loved going on adventures and making memories with Robert, especially riding horses together. Whether enjoying life's little adventures or simply relaxing with her favorite Diet Dr Pepper, Cheri found happiness in the moments and people she loved most.
Cheri will be remembered for her creativity, her generous heart, her love of family, and the special touches that made her home a place of warmth, comfort, and happiness. She had a way of making life's moments more meaningful, and the memories she created will forever be treasured by those who loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and the joy she brought to others will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Cheri is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Welty; her brother, Charles Walker, and his wife, Carmen; her brothers- and sisters-in-law; her nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.
