Colby Jon Scott Peters, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 35. Born on August 6, 1991, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Colby brought immense joy and warmth into the world from the very beginning. He was raised in Davis, Oklahoma, wrapped in the enduring love and devotion of his parents, Scott and Mary Ann Peters.
Colby attended Davis Schools, graduating proudly with the Class of 2010. During his high school years, he poured his vibrant energy into performing as a dedicated member of the Davis High School Marching Band and competing with enthusiasm on the Davis Golf Team. Colby was very proud that he once won $100 in a putting contest at a golf tournament. Seeking to further his education, Colby went on to attend Seminole Junior College, where he successfully earned an Associate Degree in General Education.
When Colby was just nine years old, a life-altering accident resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury. Though this tragedy dramatically reshaped his path, it never defined the limits of his spirit. With profound resilience, quiet courage, and an infectious sense of humor, Colby fought every day to live a full and meaningful life on his own terms. He found his greatest peace and happiness in the simplicity of the outdoors, especially when working alongside his beloved Pop on the family farm. Colby had a deep love of animals, most notably his dog, Trixie, who was convinced Colby was the greatest human to ever walk the earth, and Colby saw no reason to correct her.
Colby's legacy is one of perseverance, occasional mischief, good humor and an unwavering determination to overcome adversity. His quick wit, smile, and triumphant heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Colby leaves behind a family who loved him beyond measure. He is survived by his devoted parents, Scott and Mary Ann Peters of Davis, OK. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Frank and Sally Deatherage, Rozana Melton, Marjorie Roberts, Betty Roberts, and Janis Linot, along with an extended circle of cousins, lifelong neighbors, and dear friends who surrounded him with love throughout his journey.
Colby was preceded in death by Harley and Joy Botchlet, Maynard and Maguerite Linot, Ray Peters, Blake Auld, Mathew Linot and Jordan Roberts.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 29th, 2026, at the Central Church Fellowship of Believers, 45 Shepherd Hills Rd., Sulphur, OK 73086. Brother Thomas J. Thompson will officiate the service.
