Dale Wayne Roberts was born on October 15, 1943, in Davis, OK, to the late Dean Lester & Ruth Gwendolyn (Brubaker) Roberts. He passed from this earthly life on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Sulphur, at the age of eighty-two. Dale married the love of his life, the former Ms. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Carroll on July 5, 1973, in Irvine Ranch, CA. Together, they enjoyed fifty-three years of laughter, love, and adventure.
Dale grew up in Elgin, OK. After graduating from Elgin High School, Class of 1961, he continued his education at East Central University, earning a bachelor's degree in business. On April 14, 1966, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving Vietnam.
Following an honorable discharge from the Marines on October 15, 1969, Dale embarked on a business venture becoming part owner of Landau Motor Home Sales, prior to selling motor homes for the Skyline Corp. He and Jackie later returned to Oklahoma where he began working as a sales rep for Spindel Wholesale of Sulphur. While working at Spindel’s, Dale attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a master’s degree in counseling. This new degree landed him the position of Director of Mental Health Services for Arbuckle Memorial Hospital, where he remained until retirement.
Dale was known for being a jokester, but more so for his ability to pester others, especially his beloved wife, Jackie. Together they enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat. Dale had a soft spot for animals. He was always bringing strays home and providing them with the utmost care and love.
Dale had a servant’s heart. As a baptized believer in Jesus Christ, he worked hard daily to share Christ with others. He served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur, and later at Chickasaw Trail Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was serving as a deacon at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Davis. Dale took his role as a deacon to heart. He was constantly mentoring new believers, helping them to grow stronger in their faith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelyn; niece, Gwen Ferguson; two nephews, Bryan and Michael Miller; as well as his beloved church family.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by one sister, Rudean Roberts Milller and his brother, Donald Bruce Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, in Sulphur. Pastors Bryan Hetherington and Tom Hefley will officiate the service. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur.
