Darryl Wayne Elliott

Dec 31, 1965 — Jun 16, 2026

Darryl Wayne Elliott, of Sulphur, Oklahoma, was born on December 31, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Genellia (Janella) Elliott. He passed away on June 16, 2026, at 4:40 p.m. in Sulphur, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, adventure, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Darryl was raised by his grandparents, Robert Weldon Elliott and Doris Nell Elliott, who helped shape the hardworking, determined man he became. He was preceded in death by his mother, Genellia Boots; his grandparents, Robert Weldon Elliott and Doris Nell Elliott; his sister, Marsha Lynn Ellis; and his brothers, Billy Fred Elliott and Gary Wayne Elliott.

On May 8, 1988, Darryl married the love of his life, Deborah Lynn Onderdonck, in Arlington, Texas. Together they built a life centered around family, raising their daughters Bethany Christensen, Kacie Drake, and Brittany Osornio. In 2007, Darryl and Deborah opened their hearts and home to Brittany, and from that day forward he never treated her as anything less than his own daughter. His love for his girls knew no boundaries.

The family made their home in Kiowa, Oklahoma, before moving to Sulphur in 1999, where they continued building a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

Darryl worked as a surveyor for Thompson Surveying and later drove a gravel truck for Joe Brown of Davis for several years. Though he became disabled in 2013, he faced life's challenges with determination and resilience. Receiving a life-changing kidney transplant in 2020 gave him more time to enjoy the people and activities he cherished most.

An outdoorsman through and through, Darryl loved deer hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed riding RZRs with the kids and taking adventures wherever the road-or trail-might lead. Riding motorcycles gave him a sense of freedom unlike anything else. Even after losing his leg, he refused to give up what he loved and purchased a trike so he could continue riding. If there was an opportunity to create a memory, make someone smile, or take an unexpected adventure, Darryl was all in.

Darryl loved fiercely. He believed in standing up for what was right and remained true to his convictions throughout his life. He wasn't always quick to forgive when someone crossed a line, but he always fought to do the right thing. His family knew him as a protector, a provider, and a man whose love ran deep.

His greatest joy was being "Papa" to his grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to his life. He is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Nathan Drake, Talon Drake, Magnolia Christensen, Xavier Osornio, Kyler Osornio, Giovanni Osornio, Adilyn Allison, and Kyler Allison.

He is also survived by his wife, Deborah Elliott; his children, Bethany Christensen, Kacie & Zach Drake, and Brittany & Ivan Osornio; his brothers, Robert Elliott and John Elliott; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. If it meant making his girls smile and creating a great memory, Darryl was always up for the adventure.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Darryl's legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply. He taught us the value of loyalty, resilience, hard work, and making memories with the people who matter most. Whether he was around a campfire, in a deer stand, on a motorcycle, or spending time with his grandchildren, Darryl lived life on his own terms and loved his family with all he had.
