May 15, 1950 — July 29, 2020

David Ray Ashford was born May 15, 1950 in Lindsay, OK to the late Orvil Lee and Peggy Sue (Lee) Ashford. He died Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Millcreek, at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 14 days.

David, a lifetime resident of the Sulphur area, was a 1968 graduate of Sulphur High School. He was a very plain spoken individual, allowing those around to know where he stood on any matter. David was a cowboy. Throughout his life, his career choices always reflected his passion for the cowboy way of life. From shoeing horses to doing his intricate leather tooling, the levels of his skills were always very evident.

David was a simple man. All he needed in life to be happy was a roof over his head, a good horse, a good dog and his family. Because of his approach to life, David attracted countless friends over the years that helped to make his life even better.
