David Ivan Ruggs

Graveside funeral services for David Ivan Ruggs will be held at 2:00PM, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis. Pastor Tom Hefley will officiate the service.

David was born July 8, 1955, in Davis, to the late William Ivan Ruggs and Iva Nell (Hefley) Ruggs-Pletcher. He died Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Davis, at the age of seventy.

David grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1973. After high school, he spent several years working for his brother, Rickey, in the steel building industry, prior to spending a year in Canada with his family. Upon returning from Canada, David became a certified welder, constructing high-pressured gas lines. He then moved to Texas where he worked as a pumper in the oil field industry. He later returned to Davis to enjoy his retirement. In younger years, David enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Survivors include two uncles, James Hefley, Jr and Jerry Don Hefley, both of Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as his companion, Jackie Edmondson.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his two brothers, Randy Irvin Ruggs and Rickey DeWayne Ruggs; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins within the Hefley family.

Services are "entrusted to" HALE'S FUNERAL HOME, DAVIS, OK.
