Ernest Ray Russell Jr

Sonny was born Nov 23, 1932 in Davis to the late Ernest Ray & Nona O. (Thomas) Russell. He died Saturday, Dec 12, 2015 in Sulphur, at the age of 83 years & 19 days.

Sonny was a blessing to all who knew him. Despite his many disabilities and pains, he always had a smile on his face and friendly wave for everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing that humor. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with wood and playing with Legos. Sonny was fascinated by wrist watches and had a sizable collection of them.

Survivors include his three sisters, Dora Robertson of Davis, Wandell Carter of California and Martha Elliott of Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by two sisters, Bette Thursby and June Golden.
