Etta Louise Thomas

April 27, 1931 — March 11, 2026

Etta Louise Thomas, a woman of profound faith and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away on March 11, 2026.

Born in Red River Parrish, Louisiana on April 27, 1931, to Gordon Pankey Shepard and Willy Etta (Shockley) Shepard, Louise's life was defined by her deep love for family and friends.

On June 7, 1949, Louise married the love of her life, Joe Billy "JB" Thomas. Together, they built a life centered on family and faith, as they owned and operated Midway Gas & Grocery and raised two sons, Billy Monroe and Tommy Joe "Bo."

Louise found beauty in the world around her. Whether she was casting a line while fishing, tending to her vibrant flower gardens, or engaging in a spirited game of cards or dominoes, she cherished the time spent with friends and family. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and connection.

A devout Christian, Louise was a longtime, faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Sulphur, OK. She lived her faith through action, most notably by assisting with funeral meals for many years. Through this work, Louise offered comfort and nourishment to others during their most difficult times.

Although Louise faced great loss, her spirit remained resilient, anchored by her faith, family, and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JB; two sons, Billy and Bo; and two great-grandsons, Paden Thomas and Daniel Thomas. Louise is survived by her daughters-in-law Paula Thomas and Nellie Thomas; grandchildren Mark Thomas and wife Dee Ann of Perry, OK, Poppy Thomas and wife Kelsey of Morrison, OK, Crystal Ingram and husband Jerry of Davis, OK, and Levi Thomas and wife Beth of Davis, OK; great-grandchildren Darrell, Dallan, JB, Blake, Kolt, Jason and Schane Thomas, and Dalton, Paige, and Ashton Ingram; great-great-grandchildren Daxton Love and Lynlee Ingram.

Louise's life was a testament to the idea that the greatest treasures are found in the people we love and the kindness we show to others. In her honor, may we all cast a line, plant a seed, or share a kind word.

Graveside services for Louise will be held at 2:00PM, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur. Reverend Dick Terry, whom she dearly loved, will officiate the service.
