Francis Will “Jock” Cobley

Francis Will “Jock” Cobley was born Sept 25, 1945 in Ada to Francis Cobley and Peggy Neal. He died Saturday, Apr 12, 2014 in Davis at the age of 68 years 6 months & 17 days.

Jock grew up in the Roff and Vanoss areas. He had a passion for horses that led him to spend most of his life breaking horses and riding broncs. Most recently, Jock worked for the Chickasaw Nation as a ranch hand. He was very talented when it came to Native American bead work and often worked with others, teaching them the art. He was recently recognized at the Chickasaw Nation Art Show & Market. Jock was a very proud member of the Chickasaw Nation.

Survivors include daughter, Dannie Sue “Chigger” Davidson of Del City; son, Rylee Davidson of Ada; granddaughter, Mariah Lula-Sue Marsh; six sisters, Janis Harris of Picayune, MS, Sandra Caffey of Abilene, TX, Prissy Donaghey of Burnet, TX, Stacy Wesberry of Madill, LaVonne Wyatt and LaVerne Keeling, both of Ada; two brothers, Monty Wright of Eufaula and Rocky Wright of Ada; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Jock was preceded in death by his mother; step-father, Joe Kenneth Riddle and a daughter, Jackie.

Services for Jock will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, Apr 17, 2014 at the Dolberg Baptist Church with Brother Larry Hawkins officiating.
