Sulphur

Gerald Lee Stone, better known by all as “Jerry”, was born July 1, 1934, in Terlton, OK, to Virgil D. and Anna Hazel (Landrum) Stone. He died on Friday, June 6, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 5 days.

Jerry grew up in Quinlan, TX. After graduating from Boles Home High School, he attended college on a music scholarship. Throughout high school and college, his music groups traveled across the United States sharing their talents. Following college, Jerry worked in the Dallas area doing roofing construction prior to working as a marine biologist at Lake Texoma. Later, Jerry moved to Cushing, OK, where he worked in appliance repairs. While in Cushing, he met and later married the former Ms. Treva G. (Wiggs) Heathcock on November 23, 1963. Together they were blessed with 61+ years of marriage.

Jerry and Treva moved from Cushing to Oklahoma City where he owned and operated Jerry’s Appliance Repair for some 30 years before retiring. In 2004, they moved to Sulphur to enjoy their retirement.

Jerry was a very fun-loving guy. He enjoyed making other people laugh. He and Treva volunteered with the auxiliary staff at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital. Hospital staff and patients enjoyed his bubbly personality and quickly formed friendships. Jerry was always busy doing something. He was never one to set idle. He loved spending time outdoors mowing his grass, tending to his garden and in earlier years, fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife, Treva; daughter, Debbie Stone of California; stepson, James Heathcock of Sulphur; two grandchildren, Jason Heathcock and Amanda Sikes; one great-grandson, Nolan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family members preceding Jerry in death include his parents and four brothers, Charle, Dwight, Jack, and Jimmy Stone.

Per Jerry’s wishes, no services are scheduled at this time.
