Hershel Allen Harrison

October 15, 1948 — July 7, 2025

Hershel Harrison, 76, of Sulphur, Oklahoma, passed away on July 7, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Mona. Hershel was born on October 15, 1948, in Tuttle, Oklahoma to the late Jess and Audrea (Cox) Harrison. He married the love of his life, Mona (Sexton), on January 18, 1969. Together, they built a life full of love, hard work, and cherished family.

Hershel dedicated 40 years to U.S. Silica in Mill Creek, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and quiet, steady presence. A man of few words but great impact, he was someone others could always count on.

He is survived by his wife Mona of the home; his three children: Sheryl Jordan and husband Shane, Rex Harrison and wife Jackie, and Chrystal Stiles and husband Brad. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Stephanie, John, Alex, Rick, Jamie, Hershel, Shance, and Drake. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Emma, Lilly, Olivia, Mae, Rick Jr., Jaxtyn, Emma, Daisy, Lily, Chloe, Zoey, David, Sutton, and Sefton. Hershel is also survived by his sisters: Ilean Miller, Betsy Benefield, and Margaret Stacy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Allen and several beloved brothers and sisters.

Outside of work, Hershel found joy in the simple things-spending time in his shop, tinkering with lawnmowers, and enjoying deer hunting with family. He had a knack for good-natured teasing and was rarely seen without a grin and a spark of humor.

Hershel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In accordance with his wishes, Hershel was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
