Janet Carolyn (Casey) Horton-McClellan was born March 5, 1942, in Tulsa, OK, to the late Monroe Casey and Dottie (Jones) Walkenbach. She passed from this life on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Amarillo, TX, at the age of eighty-three.
Janet devoted her adult life to caring for her children and enjoyed being a full-time homemaker. Next to Christ, her family was most important. She was known as a pillar of the Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, TX, where she served and volunteered wherever she was needed. Her love for Jesus Christ was unwavering. As a faithful prayer warrior, Janet was continually praying for the needs of her family and friends.
Janet was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball in younger years. In her spare time, she also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, playing the piano, dancing and spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimla Casey & husband John of Canon City, CO; two sons, Don Horton & wife Valerie of Amarillo, TX, and Darryl Horton & wife Zonia of Pampa, TX. Her beloved grandchildren are Brianna Casey, Tiffany Powers, Matthew Horton, Andrew Horton, Jonathan Horton, Copper Horton, Darryl Horton II, Hayden Horton, Heather Horton, Jenny Ungersma, Joshua Horton, Rebecca McKay, and Stephanie Horton, James Horton II, Joseph Horton, Reanne Horton, and Sierra Atherton.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, L.P. "Cotton" Horton; and late husband, Ray McClellan; two sons, Gary and James Horton; three grandsons, Jason, Harold & Dale Horton; as well as her brother, Dale Casey.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Hennepin Cemetery in Hennepin, OK. Pastor Erron Mercer will officiate the service.
