Jerry Paul Pullen was born August 19, 1934, in Davis, to the late Walker Lynn & Minnie Lucille (Hager) Pullen. He passed from this life on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Davis, at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 27 days. He and Leta Joyce Bridges were married on July 5, 1954, in Gainesville, TX. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1995.
Jerry grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1953. He joined the United States Air Force on August 19, 1953, and was honorably discharged on August 18, 1957. He spent his working years as a Civil Engineer Tech for the U.S. Soil Conservation. Jerry was a very mechanical minded man. If it had a motor, he could fix it. For many years, in addition to his full-time job with the government, he worked on boat motors for C.L Risner at Arbuckle Sports Center. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed tending to his beloved “P” patch, but more than anything, he enjoyed visiting with his cherished family and friends.
In addition to his other hobbies, Jerry had a passion for motorcycles, which he shared with his son and grandsons. Just two months prior to his death, Jerry, accompanied by his grandson Luke, took his final 1500-mile bike ride that covered three states. Being the proud Air Force Veteran that he was, many of his trips included visiting the Vietnam Memorial in Angel Fire, NM.
Jerry Paul Pullen was truly one of a kind. He had the heart of a servant and was always looking out for the needs of others. His love and devotion to the Lord, his country, his family, and his friends were at all times unwavering. To know Jerry was to love Jerry. He was very humble and was known for his honesty and integrity. He was very tight lipped when people confided in him. He lived by the principle that “loose lips sink ships!” Jerry Paul simply made the world a better place in his own unique way. We are all blessed to have known this great man and experience his friendship. Rest easy from your labor Jerry Paul. Enjoy the riches that our Lord has for you.
