Juanita Kay (Blanton) Hazlitt
Juanita Kay Hazlitt was born December 18, 1963, in Sulphur, to the late James M. Blanton and Velma L. (Britt) Price. She died on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 60.
Juanita grew up in Sulphur. After high school, she made her home in Wynnewood for many years. During that time, she worked as a clothing coordinator at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center in Pauls Valley. Due to failing health, Juanita was forced to retire in 2004.
Juanita was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her beloved family. She was known for her exceptional cooking skills, as well as always wearing a big smile on her face. She enjoyed going for evening car rides.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Lorene Brooks; one son, Kenneth L. Pace & wife Dawn; nine grandchildren, Austin Keith Pace, Bryson Lee Pace, Chance Hunter Lee Watterson, Ariyah Blaze Pace, Remington Legend Colt Pace, Karrson Blake Hazlitt, Kaydence Trinity Brooks, Korbyn Scott Leroy Brooks and Journey Jean Rose Word; as well as two brothers, Charlie Blanton and David Blanton.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her stepfather, Hurbert Price; one son, Keith Lamar Pace; one sister, Mattie Lorene Black; and two brothers, Dwayne Blanton and Roy Blanton.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Dolberg Cemetery, with Brother Glen Clary officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00PM, on Monday, August 5th , at Hale's Funeral Home in Sulphur.
