Larry Dale Robinson

December 14, 1958 — November 3, 2025

Larry Dale Robinson, known by most as "Larry Rob" was born on December 14, 1958, in Pauls Valley, to the late Walter Roland "Doc" & Billie Ruth (Moore) Robinson, Jr. He died on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 66. On August 10, 1989, Larry and the former Ms. Janna Greer Reding were united in marriage in Las Vegas, NV. This union was blessed with one daughter, Maci Jo.

Larry was a life-long Davis resident. He attended Davis schools and graduated in 1977. He enrolled at OSU and spent the first semester looking for his classes, but he never found his agronomy class. He transferred to East Central and attempted to continue his education for the next 2 years by rooming with Phil Drennan. During those two years there were a lot of activities going on, just not very many in the classroom.

Larry loved to hunt and fish and be a shade tree mechanic. He could fix about anything if he had some duct tape and some bailing wire. As a fisherman, he loved life down on the Washita River and considered himself as a "river rat". Noodling was his absolute passion. You could find Larry somewhere down on the river at about any given time. He had over 60 fishing poles of every size and purpose. Fishing, especially with his friends or family, was something he enjoyed very much.

One time, while out at Longmire Lake, Larry found a strange "Blob" that he believed to be an alien, so he did what anyone would do, he put it in an ice chest and brought it home. He was convinced that he had found an actual alien! The next morning when he lifted the lid on the ice chest, it had vanished, which convinced him even more that it was definitely an alien. Throughout Larry's adventures, either down on the river, out in the mountains or boating across a lake, he continued to capture various "pets" to bring into town to show everyone. To include a 6-foot rattlesnake that he was so proud of.

Larry was well known for his kind heart. He was willing to help anyone, whether he knew them or not. One time Larry saw a person dumpster diving, so he went to the store and bought some milk, bread and lunch meat and put it in the dumpster with a $20 bill, which not surprisingly was Larry's last $20 bill.

After his college days, he began managing a gas plant in the mountains for Mapco & CNG and worked there for many years. He loved farming and ranching and working for his nephew Clint at First Class Portable Toilets and of course, Larry always had a very creative way of describing what he encountered on his daily routes.

But the most important thing, aside from everything he did, Larry dearly loved his daughter, Maci Jo and his two beautiful granddaughters, Journey and Jade and on his last day, one of the last things he got to remind them, "Y'all are the most beautiful things I've ever seen."

Survivors include his daughter, Maci Jo Robinson, of Wichita, KS; two granddaughters, Journey Dawn and Jade Everly Allen; one sister, Rolanda Rogers of Davis; two nephews, Clint Grinstead & Randi, and Butch Rogers & wife Lacey; one niece, Courtney Yingling & husband Jason; three great-nieces, Alee Morrow & husband Thomas, Jolee Grinstead and Abby Eason; great nephew, Triston Nowlin; as well as great-great niece, Brayleigh Grinstead; and great-great nephew, Hudson Lane "HL" Grinstead.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his great-nephew, Langston Grinstead.

Services will be held at 10:00AM, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Davis. Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr will officiate the service.
