Mary Helen Reynolds

Dec 6, 1943 — Aug 11, 2026

Mary Helen Reynolds was born on December 6, 1943, in Sulphur, to the late Wiley & Mildred (Looney) Lowrey. She passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Davis, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer. Mary was 82 years of age.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. After graduating from Sulphur High School, she worked as a switchboard operator for the Crawford Telephone Company. On September 1, 1967, Mary and Fredrick Louis "Fred" Reynolds, Jr were united in marriage. This union was blessed with two children, Jill and Frederick "Trey" Reynolds, III.

For many years Mary was a stay-at-home mother, devoting herself to raising her two children. After her children were raised, she spent several years working at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Sulphur. Mary later found her calling in life when she became employed with the Davis Public School System where she spent 25 years working as a library assistant. Mary found immense joy helping the children find the love for reading. The love she had for the children and staff of Davis Elementary was truly unwavering.

Mary had a profound sense of humor and kept those around her laughing. She was a very generous individual. She loved giving gifts to others, and often that gift was nothing more than her time. She would do anything for anybody. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and of course reading.

Survivors include her daughter, Jill (Reynolds) Swenson & husband Eric of Sulphur; her son, Frederick "Trey" Reynolds, III & wife Stephanie of Sherman, TX; four grandchildren, Fredrick "Derick" Reynolds, IV; Morgan Prince & husband Cody; Jacob Reynolds & wife Peyton, and Ryan Reynolds & fiancé Colby; two great-grandchildren, Callan and Asher; her expected great-granddaughter Kamdyn; niece Cathleen Branscum; as well as her former son-in-law, John Hull and daughter-in-law, Gloria Cloud.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Fred on June 14, 2002; her sister, Tess Pierce; brother, Mike Lowrey; and her nephew, David Pierce.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur. Pastor Bill Leveridge will officiate the service.
