Pamela Kay Wright

Pamela "Kay" Wright, age 73, of Sulphur, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on January 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born in Moberly, Missouri on May 7, 1952, she was the daughter of Harve and Lettie Sanders.

Kay was the sweetest soul-kind in word, gentle in spirit, and generous beyond measure. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Her compassion showed up in quiet prayers, encouraging words, open arms, and a heart that never ran out of room for others. Her love left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.

Family was Kay's greatest joy. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, the best mother-in-law, a proud Mammy Kay, a cherished sister, aunt, cousin, and a dear friend to many. She never missed an opportunity to encourage or pray for someone in need.

Her faith guided every part of her life. Kay found joy in the simple things. She treasured long conversations, shared laughter, and being present with the people she loved. Her laugh was gentle but contagious, and her presence brought a sense of calm and peace that will be deeply missed. Kay always found a way to make ordinary moments unforgettable.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jack Wright; her son, David Wright, and wife Candice of Sulphur; her grandson, Isaac Wright of Norman; and her nephew who was more like a son, Louis Stanford of Sulphur. She is also survived by many siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Irwin; her nephew, Michael Bell; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Ida Stanford.

A celebration of Kay's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma, on Thursday January 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Brother Randy Chapman and Pastor Tom Hefley officiating. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur. The family asks that acts of kindness be done in Kay's memory.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
