Phyllis Ann Hale was born July 15, 1947, in Roff, OK, to the late Elmer "Jack" and Jewel C. (Madden) Stephens. She passed from this life on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 77. Phyllis and Terry Clark Hale were married on October 26, 1965, in Vanoss. To this union, three children were born, Misty, Terry, Jr, and Jody.
Phyllis grew up in the Roff area, graduating from Vanoss High School, Class of 1966. She spent her working career in the laundry business, owning and operating Suds 'yer Duds Laundry in Ada for the final 10 years of her career.
Phyllis was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Spending time with her grandbabies brought her great joy. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at the lake, as well as cooking for her beloved family.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Hale; daughter, Misty Baker & husband Keith of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sons, Terry Hale, Jr & wife Angela of Pocasset, and Jody Hale of Roff; six grandchildren, Dustin Hale, Dylan Hale Baker, Kyri Hester, Jared Hale & wife Brittnay, Abby Hale and Annie Hale; one great-granddaughter, Jolene; two sisters, Sue Jones and Judy Cheek; two brothers, Jackie and Jimmy Stephens; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by one grandson, Zachary Baker, and eight siblings, Betty Horton, Maxine Miller, Cathy Hill, Joyce Edwards, and Preston, Cletus, Chuck, and Dee Stephens.
A memorial service will be held in the near future.
Cremation was entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home, of Sulphur.
