As his teenage years approached, Raymond decided he liked the cowboy life, as he too cowboyed for many years. In 1979, he and his family settled in Mill Creek, and he began working in the oil field. In 1990, he left the oil field and began cross country truck driving, team driving with his beloved wife Faye. After retiring in 2000, Raymond spent much of his time fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, various farm work, and raising his chickens and rabbits. Raymond was a member of the Sulphur Masonic Lodge #144, where he was active for many years.

Survivors include his three sons, Doug Williams & wife Stacy of Mill Creek, Raymond Williams & wife Loretta of Reagan and Dewayne Williams of Texas; daughter, Beth Stover of Sulphur; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Faye on November 9, 2021; three daughters, Susie Williams, Marleen Williams, and Lisa Johnston: two sisters, Gayle Kelley, and Charlene Williams.
