Richard Lee Sexton

August 12, 1956 — August 30, 2024

Sulphur

Richard Lee Sexton was born August 12, 1956, in Tulsa, to the late William L. and Marjorie M. (Carter) Sexton. He died on Friday, August 30, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 68 years and 18 days.

Growing up, Richard resided in several towns, as his father followed work with Montgomery Wards, prior to settling in Yukon. After graduating from Yukon High School, Class of 1974, Richard himself spent ten years working for Montgomery Wards. Later he worked for the City of Yukon, where he met and later married Karen Lynn (Rees) Sneed, on June 18, 1999, in Las Vegas. For many years, Richard owned and operated Richard’s Mobile Home Service, moving countless mobile homes throughout the state.

In 2008, Richard and Karen moved from Yukon to the Five Lakes Area, south of Sulphur. Being a lake enthusiast, he enjoyed living just minutes from the Arbuckle Lake, which allowed him to spend many hours fishing and boating with family and friends. Richard was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed traveling as often as he could with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; daughter, Melissa Marie Reed of El Reno; two sons, Christopher Emmerton Martin & wife Chrystal of Tuttle, and Michael Anthony Sneed & partner Howard Gusoff of Norriton, PA; as well as four grandchildren, Gabriel & Izabella Reed of El Reno, and Cayleigh & Cooper Martin of Tuttle.

Services will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Sulphur, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating.
