Robert Franklin Turpin

Robert was born Sept 27, 1934 in Calumet, OK to the late Frank Wesley and Laura Lorene (Wilkins) Turpin. He died Sunday, Sept 27, 2015 in Antlers, OK, at the age of 81. Robert and Naola Ione Nusz were married on Oct 11, 1958 in Clayton, NM.

Robert grew up in the Geary area. He spent most of his career working in the retail grocery business. He & Naola owned and operated the Sonic Drive-In in Berryville, AR for four year. In 1997, Robert retired after 30+ years in the in the grocery business. Robert was also a published author, writing numerous Western History books, magazine articles, as well as E-Books. In his spare time, he enjoyed treasure hunting.

Survivors include his wife Naola; two sons, Randy Turpin of Davis and Phillip Turpin of Yukon; four grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Everhart, Ashley Wilson, Jacob Turpin and Jeremiah Turpin; one great-granddaughter, Mon’Shavia Everhart; as well as one sister, Carol Ables of Antlers.

In addition to his parents,Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Wilson-Fishgrab; a sister, Elsie Robertson and brother, Paul Turpin.
