Rosa Lee Thomas was born on December 4, 1947, in Coleman, TX, to the late Floyd Robert & Clovis Estelle (Floyd) Latimer. She died on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 7 days.

Rosa grew up in Crowell. After graduating from Crowell High School, she attended Texas A&M, majoring in business. Later she moved to Wichita Falls, TX, and then to Houston, where she worked as an accounting clerk for the Kroger Grocery Company. In 1982, she and her two children, Todd and Rhonda, moved to Sulphur, OK, where she began working for Murray County Clerk, Jerry Brown. After a few years working in that office, Rosa moved to the Murray County Elections Board as Chief Clerk. Upon the retirement of Wanda McBee in 1994, Rosa was appointed Secretary of the election board and faithfully fulfilled her duties until her own retirement in 2011. In addition to her many years of working in county government, she also worked for Sooner Foods Grocery in Sulphur, and Harmon Cablevision.

Rosa was a very kind-hearted lady. She treated others with the utmost respect and greatly enjoyed serving the citizens of Murray County. She was a devoted Christian and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed being outdoors in nature, often feeding the squirrels. In her spare time, Rosa enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her son, Todd Thomas & wife Deborah; daughter, Rhonda Summers & husband Lonnie, both of Davis; nine grandchildren, Tyler Summers, Jessica Summers, Katelyn Stands, Kaylea Atteberry, Jesseca Thomas, Chistina Thomas, Grady McNiel, Clyde McNiel, and Katie McNiel; ten great-grandchildren; as well as one sister, Joyce Woodell of Sulphur, and one brother, Jerry Latimer of McAlester.

Services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Crossway First Baptist Church in Sulphur. Garrett Leveridge will officiate the service.

Services are "entrusted to" Hale's Funeral Home of Sulphur.
