Ruby Dolores Ward

Ruby Dolores Ward, known as Dolores, was born June 22, 1939, in Ontario, California, to the late Willaim Clyde and Ruby Florence (Beams) Henderson. She died on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 86.

Dolores grew up in Grady County, OK, attending school at Hughes. After high school she moved to the Ft. Worth area where she spent several years working in the modeling industry. It was while living in Ft. Worth that she met James Allen Ward. The two were united in marriage on October 5, 1956.

In 1972, Dolores and her family moved from Texas to Window Rock, AZ, and from there to California, in 1982. While living in Arizona and California, Dolores devoted her time to raising her children. In 2007, she and James returned to Oklahoma, eventually settling in Davis, to be closer to family.

In her free time, Dolores enjoyed painting, sewing, and crocheting. She cherished spending time with her family.

Family members include her husband, James; three children, Cindy May of Davis & her late husband Tommy "Tom" May, formerly of Tishomingo, Kristi Lankford & husband Donnie of Tyler, TX, and Barry Ward of Durango, CO; seven grandchildren, Toby May & wife Jennifer, Cara Lanoy & husband Terry, Casey Gobel, Justin Gobel, Keegan May & wife Ashley, Maddison Ward, and Wyatt Lankford; twelve great-grandchildren; as well as three siblings, Joan Henderson Abbott of Tishomingo, Cecil Henderson of Wynnewood, and Lonnie Henderson of Ft. Worth.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by two daughters, Cara and Tara Ward; and one sister, Eva Lou Powell.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Cremation was entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home of Davis.
