Rubylee Lorie Brown

Rubylee Lorie "Ruby" Brown was born February 7, 1938, in Ada, to the late Z.T. & Loreda (Gilstrap) Storts. She passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 87 years. She and Troy Dale Brown were united in marriage on March 24, 1988, in Gainesville, TX.

Ruby grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1956. She spent several years working at First Oklahoma Bank & Trust, in Sulphur, prior to spending 25 years working at Walmart, where she worked as clerk in the layaway department and in fabric department.

Ruby, affectionately known by her family as "Meme", enjoyed sewing, baking and simply being in the presence of her grandchildren. Time with her beloved family often included shopping trips that lasted all day long and teaching her girls how to bake sweets. Ruby was an avid OU Sooners fan, especially when it came to girls' softball. She and Dale enjoyed going out to eat, often driving all the way back from their daily travels, just to eat at her favorite place, Main Street Restaurant in Davis. Ruby was certain to always have every hair in place and a fresh manicure.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Brown; three grandchildren, Tiffany Sands of Sulphur, Patience Dudley & husband Josh of Davis and Buster Wright of Sulphur; six great-grandchildren, Blakelee & Tenlee Sands, Hadie & Rhett Dudley and Shaylee & Cash Wright; two great-great grandchildren, Kolsten and Laylyn; two stepdaughters, Dorinda Colbert and Brenda Jane Brown; as well as one cousin, Terri Remmington.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri (Hood) Wright.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM, on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur.

Services are entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home of Sulphur.
