Sharon Van Fennell

Sharon Van Fennell was born September 7, 1947, in Pauls Valley, OK, to the late Hiram Leslie & Ollie Mae (Davis) Hook. She passed from this life on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Sulphur, at the age of seventy-nine. Sharon and Leroy "Fuz" Fennell were married on July 17, 1974, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2021.

Sharon grew up in the Wynnewood/Elmore City areas. After marriage, they made their home in Oklahoma City, prior to settling in Roff, where they raised their three children. In 1991, Sharon and Fuz moved to Sulphur to be closer to her grandchildren.

Sharon attended Byng Vocational School where she obtained licensing to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her 30 years in the medical field, she worked for several employers including the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital, Artesian Nursing Home, Halliburton Services and Viscase.

Her grandchildren were the light of her world. She spent every moment she could with them and her family. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing Yahtzee, Farkle and Poker. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, and taking random road trips with Angie, only because she made her go along; as well as cooking for her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Angie Ivey and Tammy Foster & husband Ronnie, both of Sulphur; one granddaughter, Megan Grinstead Swanson & husband Nick of Edmond; great-grandson, Huxton; as well as two sisters, Mae Golden and Barbara Shanz; and three brothers, Ambers Hook & wife Pat, Bob Hook & wife Patsy, and Pat Hook.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by one son, Jack Ivey; grandson, Logan Grinstead; as well as six brothers and four sisters.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00AM, on Friday, October 30, 2026, in the chapel at the Crossway First Baptist Church, in Sulphur.
