Tommy Wayne "Tom" May

Tommy Wayne "Tom" May was born July 28, 1958, in Tishomingo, OK, to the late Tommy Sylvester & Vinita Fay (Covington) May. He passed from this life at his home in Davis, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family, just one day shy of 66 years. Tom and the former Ms. Cindy Lynn Ward were united in marriage on June 11, 1977, in Tishomingo. To this union were born three children, Toby, Cara, and Keegan.

Tom grew up in Blackwell, OK, prior to moving to Tishomingo his seventh-grade school year. After graduating from Tishomingo High School, Class of 1976, Tom attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, on a football scholarship. Returning from college, he and his father owned and operated the Silver Dome Dairy Farm in Mannsville for several years, prior to Tom beginning a lengthy career in the oil field industry. His work began as a roustabout, then into drilling mud and finally into chemical sales, retiring as a sales manager from Aegis Chemicals in 2021.

Simply put, Tom May was a good man. His love and devotion to his family was unwavering. No matter what event his children and grandchildren were in, Tom was there to cheer them on. He was truly their biggest supporter. Not only did he support his own, but he was also always very quick to offer encouragement and praise to others.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman. Whether it was hunting, taking his kids fishing, playing golf, or competing in archery, if he was outdoors, he was most happy. Tom, along with his son Toby, enjoyed raising cattle and tending to them. In younger years, he enjoyed riding and breaking horses.

A bit adventurous, on his 50th birthday, Tom decided he wanted to try skydiving, so he did, not once but twice, enjoying every second of it. He also made a lap around the Texas Motor Speedway, which he greatly enjoyed.

Tom was a member of the Midway Hill Baptist Church, as well the Stratford Sportsman Club. He was very proud to have been inducted into the Tishomingo School Hall of Fame in 1997.

Although his life was cut short due to cancer, Tom May lived a very full and happy life. His outgoing personality made him quite easy to love and call a friend. The impact Tom made on his family and friends will remain in their/our hearts forever. "Well done thy good and faithful servant." Rest easy till we meet again.

Those left to carry on Tom's legacy include his loving wife Cindy; son, Toby May & wife Jenny; daughter, Cara LaNoy & husband Terry, and son, Keegan May & wife Ashley, all of Davis; ten grandchildren, Hailey Alexander, Jacie LaNoy, Jakobi LaNoy, Ethan May, Zoli May, Carolyn May, Avery May, Rogan May, Ryker May, and Raelynn May; one sister, Anna Bell (May) Wedding & husband Marc; brother, Charles May & wife Pat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley Todd May.
