October 22, 1976 — November 27, 2025

Mill Creek

Funeral services for Trent Lee Maness will be held 10:00AM, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Crossway First Baptist Church, in Sulphur, with Pastors Randal Richards and Claud Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Mill Creek Cemetery.

Trent was born October 22, 1976, in Clayton, NM, to Kenneth Ray & Janese Louise (Whitney) Maness. He entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Mill Creek, at the age of forty-nine, following a year and seven-month courageous battle with cancer. Trent and the former Ms. Christina Lorene Smith were married on July 22, 2000, in Mill Creek. Three children, Shania, Taft, and K’Lyn Maness were born to this union.

Trent, a lifelong cowboy, grew up in Felt, OK. After graduating from Felt High School, Class of 1995, he continued his education at Panhandle State University. Throughout high school and college, Trent worked at feedlots and cowboyed for several ranches in the Felt area.

In 1998, Trent moved to Mill Creek where he worked for the Gray Ranch. In 2001, he moved to Carrizozo, NM where he worked for the Mendiburu Ranch prior to moving to Masterson, TX to the XL Ranch. In 2004, Trent and his family returned to Mill Creek where he managed the Gray Ranch until his death.

Trent was a very Godly man. He surrendered his life to ministry in 2013, pastoring the Ravia Baptist Church until his death. He lived his life believing and practicing the principle of right was right and wrong was wrong. Trent’s servant heart led him to always help those in need and worked hard to share the gospel of Christ with everyone he encountered. As a faithful Christian and pastor, he continually studied his Bible to increase his knowledge of the word of God.

Trent was the epitome of a true cowboy. He loved the cowboy way of life and was incredibly good at it. In his spare time, he enjoyed whittling, doing leather work, braiding ropes, dancing, playing dominos and working with horses.

Survivors include his wife, Tina; daughters, Shania Maness & companion Colton, and K’Lyn Maness & companion Colin Dulaney; son, Taft Maness & companion Molly Humphrey; one grandson, Chett Lee Maness, all of Mill Creek; his parents, Kenny & Janese Maness of Felt; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Anderson; sister, Audra Bell & husband Tanner; brother, Seth Maness & wife Shad; as well as numerous niece, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Trent was preceded in death by brother, Kyle Maness; paternal grandparents Parker & Betty Maness; maternal grandfather Forest Whitney; and maternal step-grandfather, Bob Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Ravia Baptist Church, PO Box 238, Ravia, OK 73455; or to MD Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210
