William Max Kesler

William Max Kesler, better known by all as "Bill", was born on September 11, 1942, in Oklahoma City. He passed from this life on Thursday, September 10, 2026, just minutes before his 84th birthday, in Sulphur. Bill and the former Ms. Ruby Geneva Woodrome were united in marriage on February 20, 1965, in Duncan. She preceded him in death on February 29, 2020.

Bill grew up in Addington, OK, being raised by his mother and grandmother. He attended school in Duncan, graduating from Duncan High School in 1960. Following high school, he briefly attended Cameron University in Duncan, prior to joining the United States Air Force in February of 1961. Following an honorable discharge from the Air Force in Columbia, South Carolina in September 1964, Bill returned to Oklahoma and began working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, before landing employment as an operator with the Welex Company. In 1985, he and his family moved to Elmore City, OK where he purchased a small farm. This was the life for which he had longed. Farming, raising cattle and horses were his passion, especially horses.

In 1997, Bill began working for the Hanover Corporation in Davis, as a welder. It was during his employment with Hanover that he and Geneva moved to Davis. Following the closing of Hanover, Bill took a job with the Gordon White Lumber Company, now TH Rogers. His employment at the lumber yard led him to create many friendships with the people of Davis and the surrounding areas. Davis truly felt like home to him and the people here like family. Desiring to enjoy his final years of life, Bill retired from TH Rogers in December 2025.

Bill was simply a nice guy. He was genuine, honest, and cared deeply for his family and friends. He cherished spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's activities. Bill also enjoyed fishing, meeting his friends for coffee each day and going out to eat.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Kesler, Alexandra Wilson, and Kristie Diaz; two sons, Kelly Kesler & wife Krysti and Willie Kesler & wife Krystal; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Gene Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Davis. Pastor Tony Randol will officiate the service. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis.
